Fitting the chock without lifting the drum

  1. Set the drum down on level, load-bearing ground while it is still held by the crane chains.
  2. Pull both halves of the chock apart and slide them sideways under the flange rims.
  3. Push them together to fit and lock with the linchpin; add a padlock if required.

FAQ: cable drum chock

Which cable drum chock fits my drum?

Measure the drum diameter and the width of the flange rim. The small version (DD-SCHK-202271) is designed for Ø 500–1,400 mm, rims up to 60 mm and drums up to 2,000 kg; the large version (DD-SCHK-202272) for Ø 700–2,500 mm, rims up to 100 mm and up to 7,500 kg. All three values must be within the range of the chosen version.

Is the cable drum chock suitable for outdoor use?

Do I need one chock per drum?

Yes, each drum is secured individually. Volume prices for several drums are available on request.

Can I secure a drum on site without a drum stand?

Yes. The chock slides directly under the flange rim while the drum stands on the ground. No drum stand is needed.

What is the difference between a drum chock and a drum stand?

A drum stand or jack lifts the drum so that it can turn for unwinding. The cable drum chock holds a standing drum in place so that it cannot roll away.

Is there a lockable drum chock to deter theft?

Yes, the chock is prepared for a padlock; the padlock is available separately.
